Anja Weise Tai Chi Accredited Instructor
Anja started training in Tai Chi (TC) at Golden Lion Academy in March 1995. She still remembers telephoning the school the week before and speaking to Master Charles about the classes, she was particularly interested in whether or not they also had gradings as that was something she was keen to do. Anja is still keen and enthusiastic about her own learning classes. For a while Anja’s focus from gradings changed and she began competing. She has competed locally in Melbourne and interstate in various competitions. In 2006, Anja had the privilege of being a member of the Australian Team and competing at the 2nd World Traditional Wushu Championships in Zhengzhou, China, winning gold with a fan routine, and silver with a 32 bare hands routine. Anja says, “That experience of that trip is one of the highlights in my life so far.” Anja has now re-focused her energies into training for her Third degree Black belt in TC. She is also currently teaching at the academy, which she really enjoys. Assistant instructor in 1997 and in mid-1998 was accredited as an Instructor by the Golden Lion Academy Achieved her First Degree Black Belt in TC in 2001 In 2000 and 2002 travelled to China and trained at the Beijing Wushu Institute Obtained her National Coaching Accreditation from the Australian Sports Commission in 2002 Achieved her Second Degree Black Belt in TC in 2003 Anja also has a Black Belt in Kung Fu from the Golden Lion Academy.
