Gemma Walsh Accredited Tai Chi Instructor

Gemma began training in Tai Chi when she signed up for a short 10 week course in 2003 at the local Narre Warren Community Hall with Andre Van der putt, an accredited Golden Lion Instructor. After it became apparent that the Community Hall was not quite large enough for a weapons class she and some of her classmates joined the Berwick Golden Lion Academy in 2006, under the tutelage of Chief Tai Chi Instructors, Si Gung Charles Tsui-Po and Sifu Di Logan. She really just wanted a relaxing hobby to balance the pressures of work, but loved it so much that she has been training 3-4 times a week since. She remembers those initial years of bare hands training with Andre as a lot of fun, and since then has “enjoyed the combination of the discipline of Tai Chi, the strength, flexibility and relaxation it provides, along with the strong social aspect”. Since then Gemma has participated in various Australian Competitions and she is currently focused on achieving a 4th level grading. - Accredited TC Instructor with Australian Sports Commission (NCAS) National Coaching Accreditation Scheme since 2010
