Gillian Talbot
Accredited Tai Chi Instructor



Gillian joined Tai Chi (TC) at the Golden Lion Academy in 1994 and has been training with Sigung Charles Tsui-Po ever since. After successfully achieved her accreditation in 1998 with the Australian Sport Commission, she opened a Golden Lion Academy satellite school at Emerald and Upwey and has been successfully been operating these schools since then.

Gillian has had the pleasure of teaching full time for over 6 years at many different centers around Melbourne and teaches currently at the following public community houses: Ferntree Gully, Ellie Road Blackburn, Seville, The Basin, Koonung Cottage Blackburn North and Glen Park Community Centre Bayswater.

Gillian competed in the 3rd World Traditional Wushu Festivals in 2008, Wudang, China and won one Silver and Bronze medals.

Gillian also competed in 1999 at the National Wushu and TC Competition and gained the following titles.

  • 2002 Gold medal for weapons over 40's
  • 2004 Gold medal TC Jian 32 Woman's Open
  • 2004 Silver medal Yang 40 Fan routine
  • 2005 Gold medal Traditional TC short weapons (Sabre), Woman's Open
  • Trained for 13 years with the Golden Lion Academy
  • Has been teaching TC for 9 years
  • 2000, trained briefly at the Beijing Wushu Institute under Master Wu Bin’s instructors
  • Gold medalist in Australian National competitions in 2002, 2004, 2005, and Silver medalist in 2004.
  • 2nd Degree TC Black Sash
