Tai Chi 3rd Degree Grading for Si Jie Lynn Brayshaw
Saturday the 4th of September was an important date for tai chi Si Jie Lynn Brayshaw, who sat for her third degree black belt grading. An outstanding performance displaying all the important elements of TC saw Si Jie Lynn presented her third degree, by Si Gung Charles Tsui-Po and Sifu Chris Everett.
Si Jie Lynn demonstrated her abilities in the following – 16 spear, push hands, push hands applications, locks, 48 bare hands, TaiJi Chuan fast sword, sword drills, sword applications and 42 Sword form. A “big” grading that required a high level of energy and focus. It is always an inspiration for students to watch a grading. It allows a close look at the results of years of persistence, dedication and passion. And of course a chance to admire the skills achieved by those undertaking their grading. For me as a student it is also an opportunity to realise the possibilities for my own TC journey. Well done Si Jie Lynn, and congratulations on the culmination of a truly focused effort in this step of your TC journey. Karen Dixon, TC Berwick
