Tai Chi Wushu Championship 2008 Western Australia: Two Golden Lion Students Win Overall State Champions

In April this year, Si Gung Charles, Si Jie Su and l went on a little Tai Chi (TC) adventure to Perth. Actually we travelled there for the Western Australia TC Wushu State Championships. Arriving at the complex in our small hybrid vehicle we went inside to survey the stadium where we were about to do battle. The basketball section where we were housed had a good feel about it, a sense of vitality and of life. The morning of Sunday April 20th the competitors were briefed by Chief Referee Si Gung Charles about the Rules and Regulations. There were two courts for the competition, one for the TC and the other for Kung Fu/Wushu. Si Jie Su Rule and I did our routines and felt happy with our results. The half time lion dance had a degree of difficulty that possibly should have been scored. As usual there were forms I did not know or understand yet all the athletes had a spirit in their forms that came out when they had their time on court. The atmosphere was very calm and warming (if you take out all the ruckus from the Kung Fu court) and yet before we knew it, in a blink, it was all over. See below for the results. After another very successful competition, it is time to rest, eat and prepare for the next one. Hope you can join us at the next competition.
