Tai Chi Kung Fu Master Workshops November 2009
Tai Chi Senior Master Si Gung Charles Tsui-Po conducted workshops on how to improve flexibility plus an introduction to the internal martial art of Ba Gua Zhang. Both were well attended and thoroughly enjoyed. Stretching Workshop for Kung Fu and Tai Chi
After an initial introduction to the importance of stretching and the best ways to stretch, everyone was given a flexibility assessment. This was followed by a series of floor and bar stretches. Then at the end of the session we had time to repeat some of the measurements – the results were amazing and proved the program works. “A very enjoyable and beneficial session. Strongly suggest everyone give it a go to improve their overall training and well being.” Rita, KF “A very enjoyable session of stretching. I learnt so much from this session.” Ray Gaddes, TC “It was very informative and the improvement in my stretching over the duration of the workshop was noticeable and gave lots of encouragement for future improvement.” Ruby Fry, TC. “The stretching workshop was very beneficial to the muscles I really didn’t know I had! It was a lot of fun also. Thank You All.” Dagmar Trewin, TC. “Saw results instantly!” Brandon Gawn, KF “Stretching was an eye-opener. It was good to compare before and after.” Bob Maxwell, TC.
Ba Gua Zhang WorkshopAfter a short introduction to the history of Ba Gua Zhang, Master Charles Tsui-Po soon had a class of TC and KF students walking in circles in the unique manner of this internal martial art. Master Charles demonstrated the effectiveness of the applications as well as demonstrating a number of moves in the form. We suddenly understood why Ba Gua Zhang has been likened to a dragon soaring in the clouds! “Ba Gua was a fantastic workshop. This was my first internal martial art and it was a great experience, now I am like Jet Li!” Kung Fu Student “Very enjoyable style - want to learn more! Thanks.” Trace, Kung Fu “Great class in a very complex art of Ba Gua. I am definitely interested if a class was offered. Thanks.” Davey, Kung Fu. “Excellent seminar, very well taught and broken down. Good background history for the time allowed. Application work was also very good; overall a very good introduction to the Ba Gua form.” Brad, Kung Fu
